MICHAEL JORDAN’S FAMILY HOME

The Jordan family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, when Michael was very young. Michael’s rivalry with his older brother Larry fueled his desire to be the better player. If the backyard court provided the canvas for Jordan to develop his basketball genius, then it was the presence of its other regular occupant that unleashed the beast of his competitive spirit.

Michael Jordan’s high school basketball career is best known for what didn’t happen. In the fall of 1978, Jordan didn’t make the varsity team as a sophomore at Laney High School in Wilmington, N.C. After growing six inches, he made the junior varsity team and starred for two seasons before signing with the University of North Carolina

MICHAEL JORDAN’S COLLEGE

Michael Jordan was a freshman on the 1982 North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball team, and he played a pivotal role averaging 13.5 points per game. He also hit the game-winning shot against Georgetown in the title game. The University of North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball team is one of the most prestigious programs in college basketball, led by legendary coach Dean Smith, and with a roster boasting some of the greatest players ever – indeed, perhaps the greatest player ever.

His Airness: A player who changed the culture of an entire city. No other player in NBA history has meant more to the city and team he represented than Michael Jordan. Jordan’s importance stretches past the confines of just basketball. When an average sports fan thinks of Chicago sports, Michael Jordan is most assuredly at the top of the list. Jordan built the Chicago Bulls from the ground up and transformed them into the unstoppable team we witnessed during the championship years.

Michael Jordan’s private residence features a staggering nine bedrooms, 17 bathrooms, a 15-car heated garage, an indoor basketball court, an outdoor tennis court, and a putting green. This contemporary style house sits on seven acres of secluded land behind an electronically controlled gate adorned with Jordan’s jersey number.
